July 23, 2010
Well, Wimbledon turned out to be a “dry spell” on both the weather front and no title, but we had a couple of strong wins and close matches on extremely dry and quick courts. For us, though, the time in London is always positive, especially with Lucille being home and staying with our close friends the Segals in London.
We’ve been back in the states now for three weeks. We had some great kids’ clinics for K-Swiss, which takes us back to when we were kids looking up to the pros whenever our parents took us to a tournament or clinic.
It is great to be home in Camarillo practicing on the hard courts for the start of the US Open Series in LA during the week of July 26. We’ve won the title five times, and the home town fans are the best ever.
As a tune up, last week we played two matches for the Kansas City Explorers, which were fun and very competitive. We also played a gig in Kansas City’s Power & Light District, and we thank Captain Craig for shredding on the drums. We love WTT with the team aspect, and we’ve been adopted by the KC fans. We hope to be back again next season!
We are throwing out the first pitch tomorrow at the Dodgers game, and the Bryan Bros. Band has three gigs over the weekend: at a K-Swiss party and a club, both on Sunday in Santa Monica, and at a Hollywood club on Monday night. Our friend Jim Bogios from the Counting Crows will be coming in for all three. We are having alot of fun during our time off.
After this weekend, we will be totally serious about our summer schedule, and so there is not alot of free time. We need your support now more than ever.
Best,
Mike & Bob
